SPORTS ROUND-UP

                Sports and games are not mere physical activities alone. They play a more significant role in making people
           confident, adaptable, alert, and happy. A sport as a career choice is still not a lucrative option for many in our country.
           Sports teach many life skills required for good conduct in the society. Children in sports learn to follow the rules and
           respect teammates and opponents. As adults, they will not readily resort to dubious and corrupt practices. Playing
           games increase concentration power.
                We feel honoured  in presenting this report on behalf of  Physical Education department.   Our department has
           conducted Inter house games and sports events this year as per the plan. We fielded our school teams in CBSE
           tournaments in which they performed very well at all levels. School Chess teams participated in the CBSE South
           Zone tournament in Vellore. School T.T team participated in CBSE Cluster-VII tournament held in Peddapuram, A.P.
           Football and Athletics tournaments were held in Hyderabad. Yoga and Badminton teams took part in CBSE South
           Zone tournaments held in Tamil Nadu.
                School Chess players played well and bagged prizes in several District and state level tournaments. Our young
           Chess Master Krapa Karthikeya secured a FIDE rating of 1027. Manoj Ranga Reddy and Y.Hari Charan Sai won
           laurels in International Kickboxing tournaments. School Yoga team got enrolled in Yoga world records book. Arvind
           Kumar represented Telangana state football team in Sub-Jr national South zone tournament. Arvind and Sethu Madhav
           Naik represented Khammam district football team in SGF Inter district Meet. Our star sprinter Kundana Reddy made
           the school proud by winning  gold medal in CBSE Cluster level Athletic Meet and represented Cluster-VII in National
           Meet in Chattisgarh. Our long distance runner Lasya Priya bagged silver medal in 1500 mts run in Cluster level Meet
           and took part in National Meet. Our Girls Relay team consisting of  Kundana, Vinathi and Venu Varshitha, Lasya priya
           and Pravallika fetched Silver medal in 4x100 mts and Bronze medal in 4x400 mts for the school in the Cluster Meet.
           Many of our students won medals in various martial arts competitions this year.
                   On the domestic front, Kakatiyas and Satavahanas have proved their supremacy in the caroms competitions
           while Kondaveedus dominated in Chess competitions in the indoor games. Vijayanagara House has done extremely
           well in outdoor games and won 9 trophies. Satavahanas and Kondaveedus shared 3 trophies each this year.

           Vijayanagaras won the Cross Country rolling shield for the 8  time and Kho-Kho trophy for the 5  time. Defending

           champion Vijayanagara also retained the Ghanshyam Somani overall championship. Kondaveedu bagged the prestigious
           Marchpast rolling shield this year.

                Our school hosted maiden Hub of Learning Sports and Games Competitions on 30  August’19. Our school
           Boys Badminton team was the winner while Girls team was runner up in HOL Inter school Badminton tournament.
           School Girls Chess team was winner and Boys team was runner up in HOL Chess Tournament. We won the HOL
           overall championship.

                Nava Bharat Schools celebrated their 41  Annual Sports Day on 7  December 2019. Mr Rajat Kumar Saini,
           IAS, District Collector , Bhadradri Dist graced the function as Chief Guest while Mr Ch. Manikanta, Asian Medalist in
           Fencing was the Guest of honour. Rhythmic marchpast, power packed track events, colourful cultural events and
           glittering prize giving ceremony marked the spectacular show.
                We remain thankful to the Management for constructing world class Badminton courts in the indoor stadium.
           Our Physical Education Department is putting in all-out efforts to improve the physical fitness and skills among the
           students. We are developing HPE records perfectly in line with Khelo India and CBSE guidelines.

                We would like to furnish the new records registered in sports this year.
